Your new thread was a continuation of the discussion going on in that other thread. I understand why you wanted a new thread but surely you can understand my point of view as well.

Actually, the last quarter or so of the post that was originally merged was devoted to discussing the order which of our other WR’s should be playing and what their various roles should be.

Of course there’s flexibility. It’s a judgment call to merge topics. If there wasn’t there would be three threads on the site: Offense, Defense and Special Teams.

Understood. But you lose the context of your comments when you do that. You start a new thread that is a continuation of a discussion in another thread, even one that has been hijacked, and anyone clicking on it has no idea the context of the discussion that generated your comments. Not only that, but anyone involved in that discussion now has to monitor the original thread and your thread to stay involved a discussion they are obviously interested in and often has to post similar thoughts on both threads.

Man, time flies. I’ve been here as you and I share your feelings about this site. But this process isn’t new it’s just the first time it happened to you. We’ve been doing this for years.
