So what does everyone think? The first 3 Gordon and Ewers could be solid value added picks. Marshall and Trader are big athletic DB so hopefully they can be nice additions. Trading up for Savaiinea seemed like we could have got equal value at 48 Ersery, Tate Ratledge Dylan Fairchaild and not gave up picks, but only time will tell. love the Gordon addition replacing Mostert
All our needs covered. Any ROH material?
Guess Grier would need to retain one after thier rookie contract expires.......
I like Jordon Phillips. Only stat missing? No sacks? Correctable?I believe so. They all have potential .
Not Griers fault......but In a perfect world Id love to route for Taylors son at tight end. But he cant block. I hope he has a great career......but He got the kiss of death. Off to the Jets.......JT was seen chanting J E T S .........cant have that.
I may be simply influenced by the messaging being put out, but seems like the thematic "whole" is hopefully greater than the sum of the parts. With the theme being: big, physical, football-lovin' guys.
I like the idea of Sieler, Grant & Phillips in the primary DT rotation.
A line of Paul, Daniels, Brewer, Savaiinaea, Jackson has a lot of potential. PFF grades Jackson pretty low, but we had a string of 4 games with 149+ yards rushing until he went down...next 6 games we topped out at 82. He was a difference maker.
Not super comfortable with safeties and, presuming they'll follow thru on the plan to trade Ramsey, the CB room is scary bad presently. Gotta think there's some later free agency work to do there.
Honestly feels like the kind of offseason so far that might indicate a bit of a power shift away from McD and to Weaver. Lots of defense and OL focus, with non-OL on offense being bigger physical/blocking types...no small speedy/twitchy guys.
They addressed the trenches. Wish they would have added more at OL. Nothing changes for the team until the fix that. On paper it looks pretty thin.
What I took for the draft is trading our 4th for a 3rd next year. That's a move made by a GM whose job is safe. If/when things go south, McD will be immediately thrown under the bus and Grier will be in charge of hiring yet another coach and of another rebuild.
I wonder what Grier has on Ross?Any successful buisness person would have dumped his ass when he gave out bonuses like Trick or Treat M&Ms.
McDaniels was a mistake. Hes totally lost me after the highest paid on the team quit like a baby and he did nothing.
NOTHING. I personaly would have thrown his helmet through the windshield of his McLaren and told him to never come back.Get some self respect back. I accept his skills as a QB and offensive cordinator. But hes no leader of men. And he never will be. Sorry.
I'm reading some good things about our new QB project Ewers.
Dez Bryant is impressed with him, for what it's worth. He went out on a limb and called him Dan Marino 2.0
In his own words,
"I'll never forget when I spoke my thoughts about Patrick Mahomes when he got drafted; folks thought I was crazy, but we all know how that situation is playing out at the moment. Sometimes it's all about where you land. Ewers couldn't have been put in a better situation for his skill set. I think Ewers is better than Tua across the board..and he's a better fit in the McDaniels offense".
We'll see how it plays out in pre-season. I know, Skylar looked good in pre-season also but, this feels different. Ewers was projected to be a 1st round pick and was the most sought after recruit coming out of high school. When Tua eventually goes down for his mid-season vacation I think we'll be in a lot better shape than in years past.

I look really fondly on those J.J. years. We didnt win it all......but we were always contenders. And We had the best defense that Tom Brady himself said he ever faced.
Hope is a funny thing. I used to have a ton of it. Hope implies a positive outlook and a belief that something good is possible, even if not certain.
Hope inspires people to work together towards a common goal. You dont achieve this by throwing bonuses and extensions.to a group that has acomplished NOTHING. Can you imagine the Vowboys lockeroom if they finished like Miami? Holy shit.....Jerry Jones himself would have dragged Tyreek out and kicked him in tbe ass.
It starts at the top. I dont believe 1 player respects Ross. Hes Rich but knows nothing bout being a man , hes been given everything so knows nothing about incentives. Remember thr stadium deal?Only NFL owner to fix his own stadium. City gave it all to tbe Marlins. How did he handle it? Threw money at it. Money money money. Men will smike and say nice things but will never respect you or go to war for you unless you command respect.

Thanks for clarifying— in the other thread when you said “kiss of death” I thought you were referring to the death of the dolphins… which was a natural reflex on my part.
JT. Well, he was a
Former Jet and he took it to heart when they said you can’t spell Jets, or Jest, without JT. Maybe he’ll end up in Miami at some point
you're right and I also loved the JJ years. Tough time for the battle of wills 'tween him and Marino, but dang he built a great D. Madison and Surtain not HoF, but multiple pro bowls...Bowens & Gardner clogging the front like a texas-sized duece.
I don't have a ton of hope for our late-rounders this year and, if Zach & JT are any indication, they should flash early if they've got "it".
I like the players we drafted overall I think it was a solid C+. Dropping out of the 4th was a mistake imo. There were some players we missed on although I believe all of our picks 5-7 will make the team except Biggers. Maybe Grier saw this and thought it was worth picking up that 3rd rnd pick in 2026.
I think this was Grier's draft he alluded to that so its on him. I think no one respects McDaniel's in the clip of the draft room after they selected Grant no one seemed to want to high 5 him. Grier appears to be taking over leadership of the team in 2025. Calling out Cam Smith's lack of effort prior to the draft was something McDaniel should have done last year. Might be too little too late.
Unfortunately I do not think we made ground on the Bills and lost some to the Pats and Jets after this draft. We still have a team that can win games if the players believe in our HC and qb finds his brain. I still think our problems are McDaniel, Tua then Grier in that order. We left at least 4 wins on field in 2024 due to coaching and qb play.

Id agree with that......except put ROSS first followed by these three clowns who have no respect for Miami or its History or any of us fans.

Though I don't know which 4 games, I think that's a reasonable estimate for sure. And then the last game of the season where they didn't give full effort when - if nothing more - another winning season was on the line.
We went 8-9 and could have realistically gone 12-5 or even 13-4. We had one of the easiest schedules. That said, when we played the Bills, Texans & Packers we were only even competitive in 1 Buffalo game.
That's the pathetic thing for me - we didn't stand a real chance in the playoffs even if we went 13-4.
