Oct 26, 1997: -- Bears Game WILL be on Satellite TV --
According to the schedule of the NFL Sunday Ticket published
on Sunday morning by DirecTV, the Dolphins/Bears game on Monday night
WILL be available on DSS Satellite TV through the NFL Sunday ticket
package. The Dolphins had to move their game to Monday night because
of conflicts with the final game of the World Series, that will be
played tonight at TSFKAJRS (The stadium formerly known as Joe Robbie
Stadium).
After the Cleveland Indians forced a 7th game of the World
Series by beating the Marlins 4-1 last night in Miami, the Dolphins
game was moved to Monday night at 9 PM EST. The official DirecTV
schedule this morning says that the Dolphins' game will be on DirecTV
channel 341 Monday night at 9 PM. The Patriots game will be on
channel 340.
The Dolphins game will also be televised locally on broadcast
TV in the Miami and Chicago viewing areas on ABC. The rest of the
country will see the Packers play the Patriots on Monday Night
Football.
My Comments:
So us DSS owners will get to see the game after all. That's
probably the first time I've seen the NFL make a sensible change to
their broadcasting rules.
If you don't have satellite TV, you should be able to go to
your local sports bar and see the game. If you don't know which one
of your local sports bars shows the game, check out my "Places To
Watch" website, which has a list of sports bars and restaurants across
the country and in Canada that regularly show Dolphins games on their
TV.
