Oct 17, 1997: -- Jason Taylor Breaks Arm --
Dolphins' defensive end Jason Taylor broke his right arm in
practice on Thursday afternoon and will be sidelined at least 4 weeks,
according to the latest news from Miami.
Taylor broke his arm when he hit his forearm against a
teammates' helmet during a 2 minute drill. He was taken from the
field and had surgery on his arm last night.
A further determination will be made today about his
condition, but the latest word indicates that he will miss 4 to 6
weeks. The earliest he could return would be against Buffalo on
Monday night, November 17th.
In his absence, the Dolphins will be starting Dunstan Anderson
at right defensive end, although Shane Burton can also play at the
defensive end position and Derrick Rodgers will undoubtedly be called
on to rush the passer a little more.
Anderson is the little known player from the WLAF who made the
team this summer at defensive end, beating out players like Norman
Hand for a roster spot.
And speaking of roster spots, the Dolphins have one available
after they waived Fred Barnett. They could sign another defensive
lineman if they could find one available.
My Comments:
I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's time to start
a nationwide manhunt for the Dolphins hater who has the voodoo dolls
of the players in his closet.
Until they find him ( or her - the female of the species is
more dangerous, after all), I'll be hiding under my bed with my teddy,
my blankey, a bottle of gin and an Uzi.
Don't come too close....
