Sep 06, 1997: -- Zach Will Start Sunday --
The Miami Herald is reporting this morning that Zach Thomas
practiced so well on Friday that he has been upgraded to the starting
position on Sunday. Zach's return will move veteran Dwight Hollier to
the sideline as the Dolphins continue to start Derrick Rodgers and
Anthony Harris at the outside linebacker positions.
Thomas was sidelined in the second preseason game after he
broke his fibula. He was originally listed as doubtful for Sunday's
game against the Oilers, but practiced without pain on Friday and will
now be the starter.
Hollier will see some time in rotation with Zach, because they
don't want to wear out Thomas during this game. But the combination
of the Oilers strong running game combined with Zach's recovery made
the return to the starting lineup a foregone conclusion.
Also, Karim Abdul-Jabbar is expected to start Sunday after
practicing well on Friday. He was downgraded to questionable after
practice earlier in the week, but he had a good day on Friday and is
back in as the starter.
My Comments:
Zach Is Back!!!
I don't think I have to tell everyone what this means,
especially with the Dolphins facing Eddie George, who is at his best
running between the tackles. Let's hope that he has the stamina to go
the whole game.
Zach is back!
