May 19, 1997: -- Craig Erickson Has Surgery --
The Dolphins Endzone is reporting this evening that Dolphins
quarterback Craig Erickson underwent arthoscopic surgery today to
remove "loose bodies" from his ankle.
The sugery was deemed successful and Erickson is expected to
be fully ready for training camp in July. His status for the upcoming
mini-camp in June is uncertain, but it would be unlikely that the
Dolphins will take any chances with their #2 quarterback.
My Comments:
I hadn't heard that Erickson had any injuries or problems, but
this doesn't sound like it was very serious. Despite the team's
statement that Erickson may be ready for the mini-camp in June, I
would think it highly unlikely that he'll participate. As I said
above, I don't think that the Dolphins will take any chances with
Erickson.
