Dolphins News: Kippy Brown Hired as Running Backs Coach
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Jan 19, 1996: -- Kippy Brown Hired as Running Backs Coach --
The Associated Press is reporting this afternoon that the
Dolphins have hired former Tampa Bay assistant coach Kippy Brown to
coach the running backs.
Apparently, assistant coaches George Hill (linebackers), Larry
Seiple (wide receivers), and Mike Westhoff (special teams) have been
told that they will stay with the Dolphins. The Dolphins, however,
have declined to confirm that news.
Hill is apparently being considered as a possible defensive
coordinator.
If these coaches are kept, this move leaves the Dolphins with
2 vacancies on the coaching staff, which is expected to reach 11
total. Rich McGeorge, the assistant offensive line coach is still in
limbo.
Right now, the vacancies are at the positions of offensive
line coach and either defensive coordinator or linebackers coach.
My Comments:
I don't know anything about Brown, so I can't comment on his
work. I believe that he coached Eric Rhett in Tampa Bay, but I'm not
sure of that.
