Dolphins News: Frankie Smith Injured
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Dec 14, 1995: -- Frankie Smith Injured --
Frankie Smith apparently broke a bone in his wrist during the
game on Monday night and is now listed as questionable for Sunday's
game against the Buffalo Bills.
Smith, who has been the nickel back for most of the season,
was put in a cast on Tuesday and has been recuperating this week. It
is reported that the cast will come off before the game, but that it's
unsure right now whether or not he'll be able to play.
Also in the news, Richmond Webb was apparently involved in a
car accident, in which a van pulled out into the stree in front of his
pickup truck. His truck was totaled, but he only suffered a bruised
knee and a cut lip.
JB Brown was to have returned to practice this week, but is
still listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bills.
My Comments:
Missing Smith is bad news for a secondary already playing
without JB Brown. However, it is possible that Smith could play with a
cast on his wrist.
Webb was lucky that he didn't get a more serious injury.
I really wish that JB Brown was healthy, but he's not going to
be ready to play on Sunday and that means that Terrell Buckley will
most probably start at left cornerback.
