Dolphins News: Brothen Out for Year
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Aug 29, 1995: -- Brothen Out for Year --
Dolphins offensive guard Kevin Brothen will miss the entire
season after he tore the anterior cruciate liagment in his right knee
on Monday.
Brothen was originally signed by the Dolphins as a free agent in
March of 1993 and spent that year on injured reserve after sustaining
a knee injury during training camp.
Last year, Brothen was cut by the Dolphins in August and signed
on to the Steelers practice squad for the beginning of the season. On
October 19th of last year, the Dolphins signed him back from the
Steelers, but he was inactive for the last 9 regular season games and
both playoff games.
My Comments:
Of all the players on the offensive line that made the team,
Brothen was probably the most expendable. Weidner and Greene will be
the backups at center and guard in Brothens absence.
