Dolphins' News: Bryan Cox has minor surgery
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
May 12, 1995: -- Bryan Cox has minor surgery --
ESPNet is reporting today that linebacker Bryan Cox had surgery
last Friday to remove bone spurs from his left ankle. He may be healed
enough to participate in the June Pre-Camp, but if he misses that, he
should be ready for training camp in July.
It was also announced that linebacker Chris Singleton underwent
surgery on May 4th to stabilize his left ankle. He was experiencing
some atrophy of his calf after his injury last fall.
Singleton is also expected to return in time for training camp.
In addition, last round draft pick Shannon Myers will be out for
the season after he underwent surgery to remove a small part of his
kidney.
My Comments:
I had heard that Singleton was having trouble with his leg, but I
didn't realize that it was that serious. Given that the Dolphins are
probably thinnest at outside linebacker, this is a disturbing
development.
Hopefully, Cox will be back for training camp with no further
complications.
It's a shame about Shannon Myers, but the Dolphins have no depth
problems at wide receiver right now.
