Dolphins' News: Williams, Fryar have surgery
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Feb 20, 1995: -- Williams, Fryar have surgery --
Irving Fryar and Mike Williams both underwent surgery on their
knees last week, but in neither case was the surgery serious and they
are both expected to be back for the first mini-camp in late April.
Fryar had surgery on his right knee to correct chronic
tendonitis and Williams had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
In other news, the Boston Globe reported yesterday that Miami
had signed wide receiver Scott Miller to a 3 year contract for
undisclosed terms.
Also, the Dolphins are reported to have signed tackle Ethan
Albright, nose tackle Mark Caesar, cornerback Dexter Seigler and
safety Pat Johnson, all of whom were on their practice squad.
My Comments:
The surgery is not supposed to be serious for either player,
so I'm not too worried.
The signing of Miller is, I believe, a good thing. I doubt
that he would have gone elsewhere, but he seems to be a steady player
and we're thin at wide receiver right now.
The signing of the players off of the practice squad was to be
expected.
