Part of the reason I focus on him in particular is because it might be the kind of pick that could have a greater impact than the simple addition of another TE. He measures taller and heavier than Julian Hill and much more than the departed Smythe. While it seems he has room to develop as a blocker, he has the physical tools. His receiving abilities don't need much commentary, as they're the biggest part of what makes him such a highly-rated prospect overall.
Adding him could enable our offense to morph into a more varied one with more ways to beat defenses than our current, in my opinion, over-reliance on speed. It might even result in a scenario where what's best for the team is to trade Tyreek.

I really think that Achane - if occasionally split out wide - can pick up a significant portion of the downfield speed threat that would be a void if Hill were traded. He's not Hill, but could he close the gap enough that the cost (both financial & drama) of Hill and potential benefit of trade return makes sense? If I'm Grier sitting at pick 13 and Warren is BPA, I make that pick and pull the trigger on what hopefully is a pre-negotiated trade for what might be a 2025 2nd round pick (obviously without giving full insight to another team into what the machinations of the plan).

I'd rather have:
- an offense that can beat you in more varied ways
- the ~$50M 2026 cap space (pre-June 1 trade is basically a bunch of 2025 dead money, but break even on the cap)
- another 2025 2nd round pick
- the lack of drama (or persistent risk of a ticking time bomb)
- less speed at 1 WR position, mitigated by Achane's speed
than Hill and an OG at 13 who may be more need than BPA.

This comes about because the Raiders canned their coach.

Yes, Belicheat recently signed a contract to coach the UNC Tarheels. But according to what I heard on the radio yesterday, The buyout clause is 'only' one million dollars if they wait until June to ink the deal. Meaning, the Raiders have to pay UNC only one million to break Belicheat's contract.

Will Belicheat want to have Tom Brady as his boss? We know he wants that all-time Wins record.

Will the rest of the Raiders ownership go along with this (Tom is not a majority owner)?

I don't need another reason to hate the Raiders. The only good thing that could come of this is seeing the Chiefs beat them two times per year.

Chris Greer - he has made some good draft picks and signings, but he has not focused on the team's immediate needs. Also, he has paid some players way too much money, that ended up hurting the team in its ability to go after players that could probably start.

McDaniel - I'm not so sure that he is on the hot seat, this season. He will probably get another season to turn things around. He will need a lot of help from Greer in getting the right players, both in the draft and FA. If and when Greer gets players for the Oline that can start right away, then McDaniel will have a shot to get back to doing what he does best.

Tua - he has to get his head on right and play against the "good" teams the way he does against the rest of the league. He can not do that alone. He needs a good OLine to protect him when he drops back, which will give his receivers time to get open down field. At the same time, a good OLine can open up holes for the running game, which of course will help Tua.

OLine - still hasn't been fixed. This will (probably) be Armstead's last season, He has struggled all season to stay on the field (as he always does), but he just can't be counted on. Kudos to him - he has been a warrior. Seems like Paul may do a good job in replacing him. The rest of the OLine....I don't know.

Defense - Miami's D is pretty good, but not good enough. They have a bad habit of playing well for the majority of the game (usually) but when it comes to crunch time, they fold. I'm not quite sure how that issue can be resolved. Phillips and Chubb - can they be counted on?

Anthony Weaver - he has done a good job, but it's a good bet he will get a HC job once the season ends. The Fins will have to really concentrate on getting a top notch DC to get the D playing up to the standards we all know they can. They will be losing some key players once the season is over, also, so much work to be done.

McDaniel needs to really look at his coaching staff and make changes wherever needed.

But, we are where we are and I think it present him with an opportunity to both play within himself and somewhat put the team on his back. To be clear, if a gun was to my head and I was forced to choose whether he would or would not, I'd have to say not. And it pains me to say it. But, the last 5 games are not a gauntlet of best in the conference teams like we had last year with Dallas (who came into the game 10-4 like us), Baltimore and Buffalo...with an away game @KC as our prize for limping into the playoffs.

There will be times during these last 5 games where we need him to make plays to keep the possibility of playoffs alive. Leading the team down this stretch...stepping up in those critical moments...this is an opportunity for him to show he's matured and developed beyond the guy who simply can't get it done in crunch time. He's had some real improvement since coming back in extending plays, throwing off schedule, scrambling a bit (safely). He led us as we played the full 60 in a very close game w/Buffalo. But, he also missed a couple of throws against GB that could have maybe swung the momentum back our way. Penai Seawell. Remember him? He was a generational Tackle taken in the 2021 draft at 6 by the lions after we took Waddle.

Fast forward to today. The Lions have tve #1 Oline in the NFL. Seawell is considered the best of the best . They are favored to make a Superbowl run.

Waddle has been great for us. But can you imagi e how much better we would be with Seawell then if we took him at #5? Maybe TUA doesnt hurt. All speculation I know.
