Dolphins News: Ricky Sanders close to signing
*** DOLPHINS NEWS ***
Jun 21, 1995: -- Ricky Sanders close to signing --
ESPNet and the Miami Herald are reporting today that the Dolphins
are close to signing another former Washington Redskin - wide receiver
Ricky Sanders.
Sanders' agent said that the Dolphins have offered Sanders a two
year contract and that he expects that the two sides can reach an
agreement.
Sanders played for eight years with the Washington Redskins before
moving on to the Atlanta Falcons last year, where he caught 67 passes
for 599 yards and one touchdown.
Sanders' best season was in 1988, when he caught 73 passes for
1148 yards and 12 touchdowns.
My Comments:
They're going to sign *who*?
I've got admit that I'm confused on this one. They already had 4
receivers who could have started on most teams in the league and they
add a fifth? I'm not sure that this makes a lot of sense.
If Sanders can still play with the best of them, then maybe it's a
good move. But it's still confusing....
