The 2005 NFL Draft will begin on Saturday, April 23 at noon at the Jacob Javits convention center in New York City. Unlike previous years, the Dolphins actually have a pick in the top 10 - in fact, they have the 2nd overall pick. Somehow, this seems a fitting way to usher in the Nick Saban era.
Prior to the Draft, the Dolphins have 5 picks - one each in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th rounds - having traded away their 2nd, 3rd and 6th round picks to other teams as noted below. The Dolphins have their highest pick in 34 years at the number 2 overall spot, but preliminary indications are that they will try to trade down.
The draft will be covered live on ESPN TV, as it has in past years.
Phins.com will provide draft coverage this year, starting with Chris Shashaty's Draft Preview and a list of draft resources to make your draft information gathering easier. On draft day, we'll do our best to keep you updated on the latest information on the Phins.com Draft Tracker.
